Infectious Disease Care

There are some conditions that pets may have that require treatment isolated from other hospitalized pets. Some conditions are not only infectious to other pets, but also humans. Some examples of infectious diseases are parvovirus, upper respiratory infections, leptospirosis, etc. Many of these conditions are treatable, yet we do not want to contaminate the hospital and air system. We therefore have a separate isolation room that even has a separate scrub/prep station. A special drain has also been placed in a kennel to allow for complete sterilization. This room also has a positive- in ventilation system as well as outside door to help minimize any chance of contamination. This separate "mini hospital" allows us to appropriately treat your pet, yet not contaminate any other part of the hospital.
