In-House Laboratory

Anderson's Corner Animal Hospital has the latest on-site laboratory equipment that allows for a fast and accurate diagnosis, usually within 20 - 45 minutes. Many critical patients cannot wait overnight for results sent to an outside laboratory. Below are just a few highlights of some of the diagnostic equipment that we offer.

Our in-hospital veterinary diagnostic chemistry, electrolytes, immunoassay and blood gas instrument

This CBC machine allows for a comprehensive 22-parameter complete blood count with cellular histograms in just minutes

I-STAT portable clinical analyzer allows for almost instantaneous results when key information about a patient is needed. Knowing such information as acid-base and electrolyte status upon presentation allows us to apply the appropriate treatment plan in a timely manner.

This device allows for quick evaluation of blood sugar. This is especially important to know in emergency situations such as a patient in a diabetic crisis, when a toy breed is seizing from low blood sugar, when a patient has a severe infection or a pancreatic tumor, etc.

Coagulation Panel analyzer allows for vital information when a bleeding disorder is suspected. This can be a life saver in cases such as rat bait toxicities, heat strokes, snakebites, etc.

Clinical Binocular Microscope enables us to make in-house diagnostics for patients needing on-site fecal, urine, mass aspirates, etc.
